As monsoon rains this year (2022) were extreme, heavy, beyond normal and beyond usual due to climate change effects in the region. Monsoon rains in Pakistan & Region started in July 2022 and lasted for nearly 02 months till September 2022, deeply affected and damaged nearly one third geographical areas of Pakistan but when itcomes to Sindh province, it is worst disaster hit among all.
Government authorities and UN Secretary General appealed Countries and INGOs/NGOs for timely response to help worst disaster hit areas of Pakistan as soon as possible, especially observing extremely vulnerable situation of women & children in Rain/Monsoon Flood of 2022, our Organization SRPO in partnership with NGOs/INGOs and committed for Rescue, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of worst Disaster hit areas in Sindh/Pakistan.
SRPO was among the very first organizations who responded first & fast.SRPO, the only WOMAN LED NGO in Sindh, having head quarter in Mirpurkhas (Rural District of Sindh) realized the developing disaster situation through Rural Women Network of Volunteers and getting first-hand information first & fast due to having Head Office in Mirpurkhas through
SRPO established CBOs.
SRPO started Rescue and Relief Operation in August with situation analysis which was developing and changing rapidly during Rain Flood 2022. In the beginning, when there were no immediate donor organizations in the region, SRPO decided to utilize all of its resources to save people from starving and diseases.
• SRPO distributed Food Ration Bags among 1200 Families
• SRPO distributed Safe Drinking Water among 2000 Families
• SRPO distributed Mosquito Safety Net among 700 Beneficiaries
This was beginning and this was immediate response to Rain Flood 2022 and now SRPO is running many Floods Response Projects with the Partnership of WFP, Concern Worldwide and Government of Sindh.
GENERAL FOOD DISTRIBUTION FLOOD RESPONSE 2022
SRPO with the Partnership of UN World Food Program (WFP) running a food security project for flood affected people inDistrict Jacobabad; in this we are distributing General Food Items among 14000 families in the flood affected areas of District Jacobabad and 2000 beneficiaries in District Larkana Sindh.
SRPO also provision the six metric ton (MT) Nutrition Food Supplies among under two-year children and PLWs with the support of WFP and BISP.
MULTI PURPOSE CASH ASSISTANCE RESPONSE 2022
SRPO with partnership of Concern Worldwide RAPID Fund, BHA/USAID running a Multipurpose Cash Assistance Project for flood affected people of District Sanghar; in this we are distributing cash assistance among 4625 families one time 15000 PKR each household in the flood affected peoples of District
SRPO FLOOD RESPONSE 2022 WITH SUPPORT OF UNWFP AND CONCERN WORLDWIDE
SRPO with the Partnership of WFP and Concern Worldwide in province Sindh, district Jacobabad Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed benazirabad and Sanghar. SRPO and WFP provided the Food, Cash Assistant and skills based trainings with tools to more than 60,000 flood affected families, SRPO and WFP teams worked on recovery of flood affected communities to rehabilitation the Roads, culverts, houses, Water cannel and agriculture.
